QUESTIONS
AND ANSWERS
What's
involved in having a table massage?
Option 1:
Disrobe
to your underwear, costume or naked, draped with quality towels
during your treatment. Then, our own unique blend of aromatherapy
essential oils are used to enhance states of relaxation or
revitalisation as necessary on your body, plus nourish and
moisturise the skin. Complimentary ointments maybe used for
specific problem areas.
Option2:
You may
choose a Shiatsu massage treatment, fully clothed. Non-invasive
techniques are used, applying gentle, yet firm pressure to
release tension in muscles and stimulate acupressure points.
This will release your body's blocked energy and bring the
muscles out of their contracted state.
Should I have regular massages?
When you build massage into your health regime, the accumulative
effects benefit you as a preventative medicine from disease.
The full benefits of your massage are accumulated by weekly,
fortnightly or monthly regular treatments to help maintain
your body's natural homeostasis and counteract stressful lifestyles.
It is important and in your best interest to return for regular
treatments for a healthier lifestyle. Massage should be a
vital part of life, which gives you a breathing space in which
to relax and
re-orientate yourself.
How many treatment sessions do I need?
One treatment is no quick fix. You will notice a possible
improvement, feeling of lightness, flexibility and revitalisation.
When you're tense you subconsciously hold your body tightly.
Rather than letting the problem accumulate, up to five-treatment
sessions maybe needed. If no improvements, consult your Doctor.
The Massage Therapist's role is to help you self regulate
the problem and possibly educate lifestyle changes.
Which massage therapy is best
for me?
It depends on your individual needs. Discuss this with your
Massage Therapist.
Massage Only recommends the Therapeutic Massage style.
Simply, a Therapeutic Massage is to the human body what a
tune-up is to a car.
How long should my massage session
be?
Each session maybe tailored to your specific requirements.
Massage Only recommends 90 or 120 minutes duration.
How does massage therapy benefit
me?
Massage can be valuable as a therapy for all kinds of health
problems when used in conjunction with mainstream medical
therapies.
It is especially useful for musculoskeletal pain and any problems
related to stress and muscle tension, such as headaches, insomnia,
anxiety and even chronic fatigue syndrome.
By relieving stress, massage may even help your high blood
pressure and irritable bowel syndrome. There is evidence that
it also increases your body's production of pain-killing and
mood-boosting endorphins.
Does massage therapy benefit
everybody?
The positive power of massage benefits everybody. It
has been proven over many thousands of years. A systematic
and scientific mobilisation of soft tissues of your body.
Breaking down & releasing muscular spasms & adhesions (knots)in
your body. Reducing muscular pain caused by the accumulation
of lactic acid & metabolic build up.
Stimulating the lymphatic system to eliminate toxins & waste
products from your body. Improving the blood circulation to
promote healing by increasing oxygen & nutritional supply
to the damaged body cells.
It assists in restoring the normal functioning of your articular
(joints/ligaments), circulatory, hormone, muscular, nerve,
respiratory, skin, skeletal, digestive and lymphatic systems.
This enables positive self-healing of your body, mind and
spirit. It's a very effective part of you staying fit, healthy
and enjoying life.
Should I have a massage to old
injuries?
Even injuries that have occurred many years ago may be improved
by stimulating your local blood supply and bringing the surrounding
muscles out of their old pattern of contraction, this will
